How to make a photo video with music that changes on the beat
A birthday, wedding, anniversary or graduation video works better when the photos change to the rhythm of the music. This guide shows how to build the video in Slideshow, adjust the timing and texts and export it as MP4, all in your browser, on a computer or a phone.

Where your data is processed
This tool runs entirely in your browser: your files and data are not sent to any WebFaz server.
Photos, short videos and songs are read by your browser and the video is built on your device: nothing is sent to WebFaz. In practice this matters for family and event photos. The only outside lookup is the online music search, which is optional and sends only the search term. The project is saved in this browser; to keep a copy, export the project.

Real-world use cases
Build a birthday video with music
Situation: You have 30 photos from the party and an upbeat song, and you want a video to send to the family.
- Open Slideshow and choose your photos (you can drop several at once).
- On the “Music” tab, click “Choose a song” and select the file.
- On the “Style” tab, choose “Birthday” (or “Dynamic” for faster cuts) and adjust the energy.
- Press play to preview and, if you like it, click “Export”.
Result: A video where the photos change on the beat of the music.
Pick the right format for each network
Situation: You want the same video for Instagram (feed), Reels and TV.
- Open the “Format” tab.
- Choose 4:5 or 1:1 for the feed, 9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, or 16:9 for TV and YouTube.
- Photos fit themselves, with a blurred backdrop when the ratio differs.
- Export one file for each format.
Result: An MP4 file in each ratio, from the same project.
Add a title and a closing message
Situation: You want to open the video with “Happy birthday, Ana!” and close with a message.
- Open the “Text” tab.
- Type the title, the subtitle and the closing message.
- Pick a template for each text and drag the box right on the video to position it.
- If you like, adjust when the text appears (at the start, at the end or the whole video).
Result: The video with an animated title at the start and a message at the end.
Handle too many photos for the music
Situation: There are 80 photos for a 3-minute song, and each photo would be too brief.
- Open the “Music” tab and, under “Pace and timing”, turn on “Group photos automatically to fit the music”.
- The system puts 2, 3 or more photos in the same transition, only where needed.
- To choose yourself, select photos on the timeline and use the group button.
Result: Every photo in the video, some as collages, without rushing.
Reposition and zoom a photo on a phone
Situation: Someone’s face was cut off by the framing.
- Tap the photo on the video to select it.
- Drag with one finger to reposition it.
- Pinch with two fingers to zoom in or out.
- Tap another photo to switch the selection.
Result: The photo framed the way you want, with no menus.
Tips for a better result
- Start with the music: the timing of the photos adapts to it.
- Use “Auto cuts” to let the app choose where each photo changes.
- With many photos, export at 720p first to check before making the final version.
- In full screen on a phone you see the preview better: use the button at the top of the studio.
Limits, and when this is not the best option
- To trim and edit long videos, apply effects and subtitles, the Video Editor is the better choice (there is a “Continue in the full editor” button).
- Exporting runs on your device and depends on its memory; very large projects may need a lower resolution.
- The output is MP4.
