How to do it, step by step
- Select the audio (MP3, WAV, AAC, OGG, FLAC, M4A or OPUS).
- With Trim clip turned on, type the Start and End in hh:mm:ss format.
- Choose the output format (MP3 for a light file; WAV or FLAC so as not to add losses).
- Click Convert all, listen to the result and download.
When this is useful
Separate a speech from a long recording
Cut out the answer from an interview or a passage from a meeting.
Remove silence at the start or end
Adjust the start and end to eliminate pauses.
Create a clip to send
A short audio fits in messages and emails.
Tips for a good result
- Listen to the audio in the queue’s player to note the exact times.
- The same interval applies to all the files in the queue: trim one audio at a time if the clips differ.
What this tool does not do
- Time is entered in whole seconds (hh:mm:ss); there is no millisecond precision.
- There is no visual timeline to mark the cut with the mouse.
- The clip is rewritten in the chosen format; with lossy formats there is new compression.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I cut out the middle of the audio and join the ends?
- No. The app keeps a single continuous clip, between the start and end entered.
- Is the original audio changed?
- No. You download a new file, and the original stays intact.
