WebP to PNG: convert keeping the transparency

When the WebP has a transparent background (a logo, an icon, a sticker), converting to JPG would spoil the result with a white background. PNG preserves the transparency and is accepted by practically every editor and site.

When this is useful

Logos and icons with a transparent background

Use the PNG in presentations and documents without a white square showing.

Stickers and cut-outs

Convert cut-out images to edit in programs that do not read WebP.

Tips for a good result

  • If the image has no transparency and only needs to open anywhere, WebP to JPG produces smaller files.

What this tool does not do

  • Animated WebP becomes a still image.
  • PNG is usually bigger than the original WebP.
  • Original color profiles and HDR are not preserved.
