Normalize PDF: rewrite the file with a clean structure

Rewrites the PDF with a clean internal structure. It can help when a system complains about the file or when it opens inconsistently in different readers. Note: it does not produce certified PDF/A.

Normalize PDF

Rewrites the PDF with a clean structure (does not produce a certified PDF/A).

Normalizes/rewrites the file, but does not produce a certified PDF/A. Full PDF/A compliance (ICC, XMP and validation) requires Ghostscript/VeraPDF on a server.

Rewriting the structure can make the behavior uniform.

Prepare a PDF to resubmit to a system

Some portals complain about unusual internal structures.

Tips for a good result

  • If the file is damaged, try Repair PDF.
  • Test the result in the system that was rejecting the file.

What this tool does not do

  • It does not produce certified PDF/A: that requires validation (ICC, XMP) done by server-side tools such as Ghostscript or VeraPDF.
  • It does not change the visual content.

Frequently asked questions

Does this generate PDF/A?
No. WebFaz rewrites the structure, but does not declare or validate PDF/A conformance. If an agency requires PDF/A, use a specific validator.
Does it reduce the size?
That is not the goal. To reduce it, use Compress PDF.
