Reduce a video to 720p: fewer pixels, a much smaller file

Taking a 4K or 1080p video down to 720p cuts the size a lot and still looks good on phone and laptop screens. The app calculates the final dimensions respecting the original aspect ratio.

When this is useful

Recordings of classes, meetings and presentations

720p is enough to read slides and follow the speech.

They load fast and take little space.

Tips for a good result

  • For a vertical video, 720p applies to the width (720 wide); for horizontal, to the height.
  • Combine 720p with the Balanced level for a good cost-benefit.

What this tool does not do

  • If the original video has a resolution lower than 720p, the choice enlarges the frame without gaining detail: use Original in that case.
  • Small texts on screen may become less legible.
  • The compression has quality losses.
  • The new file carries the “WebFaz.com” credit in the metadata (comment and artist).
