Reduce a video for email: fit within the attachment limit

Email services usually limit attachments to around 25 MB (in Gmail, for example). Reduce the video to a “very light” quality, at 720p resolution, and check the size estimate before compressing.

How to do it, step by step

  1. Select the video.
  2. The level already comes as Very light (800 kbps) and the resolution as 720p; check the Estimate for the new file.
  3. If the estimate still goes over your email’s limit, lower the level or the resolution.
  4. Compress, check the result in the player and download the MP4.

When this is useful

Attach a short video to a message

A presentation, product demo or incident record in a single attachment.

Send to someone with a small mailbox limit

A lighter file arrives without being blocked.

Tips for a good result

  • About 6.7 MB per minute at this level: a 3-minute video ends up near 20 MB.
  • If the video is long, prefer sending a storage link instead of an attachment.

What this tool does not do

  • The compression has quality losses.
  • The app does not send the email: it only generates the file for you to attach.
  • The estimate is approximate; check the real size of the downloaded file.
  • The new file carries the “WebFaz.com” credit in the metadata (comment and artist).
