How to do it, step by step
- Select the PNG files (up to 50 per queue).
- Adjust the Quality: lower values produce smaller files.
- Click Convert all and compare the size before and after right in the queue.
- Download the images or the ZIP.
When this is useful
Screenshots to send by email
Photos and screens with lots of detail get much smaller as JPG.
Upload images to sites with a weight limit
Forms and stores usually ask for a few MB per image.
Standardize a set of images
Convert a whole folder of PNGs to JPG at once.
Tips for a good result
- For photos, JPG reduces a lot; for icons, logos and sharp text, PNG is usually better and JPG can blur the edges.
- Test one image at 80% quality before converting the batch.
What this tool does not do
- Transparency does not exist in JPG: transparent areas get a white background.
- JPG is lossy; reconverting several times degrades the image.
- In images with few colors and straight edges (charts, logos), the JPG can even end up bigger than the PNG.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I choose another background color instead of white?
- No. This converter uses a white background on transparent areas.
- Which quality should I use?
- Between 80% and 90% is a good balance. Below 60% the flaws become visible.
