How to do it, step by step
- Select the .fbx file and, together with it, the texture images it uses (if any).
- Check the model in the scene.
- Click Convert and download.
When this is useful
Use a game or animation model on the web
GLB is accepted by web 3D viewers.
Swap FBX for an open format
glTF/GLB is an open format.
Tips for a good result
- Many FBX files point to external images: select them together with the FBX.
- If a texture is not found, the conversion continues and the app warns how many were left out.
What this tool does not do
- Textures the FBX mentions and you did not send are left out of the GLB (the app warns).
- Files of up to 400 MB. Everything is done in the browser, without sending the model.
- The app converts and shows the model: it does not edit the mesh or the textures.
Frequently asked questions
- What if the FBX has external textures?
- Select the images together with the FBX. In the test, with the image sent it was included; without it, the GLB came out without the texture and the app warned.
- Does the mesh change?
- No. The triangle count was the same in the tests.
