What this tool does not do

  • Download clean delivers one file at a time (with 3 or more, the browser may ask permission for several downloads); the Download ZIP button takes them all at once, each with the same name and format.
  • JPG and WebP photos are rewritten at 95% quality.
  • Each file comes out in the same format it came in. It does not accept TIFF, PSD, .doc, .xls and .ppt.
  • Comments, notes and images inside documents are not cleaned.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a file limit?
The app imposes no number: the practical limit is your device’s memory.
Do the clean files have the same name?
They have the same name with _clean before the extension.
How do I know my file is not sent to any server?
The cleaning happens in your browser, and you can check it: open the developer tools (F12 key), go to the Network tab and clean a file; no request goes out with the file. In our own test, between choosing the file and downloading the clean version, there was no request to external servers. When it opens, the page communicates with services such as Google Analytics, but that sends only the page visit (address and title), never the file, its name or the data read.
