How to do it, step by step

- Click Clean this.
- Download the clean presentation.
When this is useful

Remove internal data before sending to the client.
Tips for a good result
- Check under File > Info in PowerPoint.
- Speaker notes and comments stay in the file and are not removed: review them beforehand.
What this tool does not do
- It only accepts .pptx; old .ppt files must be saved as .pptx first.
- Speaker notes, comments and comment authors are not cleaned.
- Images on the slides keep their own metadata (such as photo GPS).
Frequently asked questions
- What is removed?
- Author, last modified by, title, subject, description, keywords, dates and application information.
- Do the speaker notes stay?
- Yes. They are part of the presentation’s content.
- How do I know my file is not sent to any server?
- The cleaning happens in your browser, and you can check it: open the developer tools (F12 key), go to the Network tab and clean a file; no request goes out with the file. In our own test, between choosing the file and downloading the clean version, there was no request to external servers. When it opens, the page communicates with services such as Google Analytics, but that sends only the page visit (address and title), never the file, its name or the data read.
